Feeling Blue…

Blue is the colour of the sky and the sea. A colour often associated with depth and stability. It symbolises trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven, and when worn by celebrities… Glamour! 

The Sexy Ensembles…  

Gossip Girl actress Michelle Trachtenberg chose a bright royal blue ruffled dress by Notte by Marchesa to celebrate her Maxim Magazine cover party.  Footballer’s wife Sylvia Van der Vaart, a feathered blue Versace dress for the German Bambi awards & Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrov, a cobalt blue BCBG ensemble of silk v-neck dress to attend the New York IFP Spring gala. 

Shades of blue… Year after year, blue is an option that never fades!

Pregnant Jessica Alba wore a cobalt blue Atelier Versace gown for the British Academy Film Awards 2011, while Oscar Winner Kate Winslet chose a blue Narciso Rodriguez dress for the SAG Awards 2009 and Femme Fatale Angelina Jolie opted for a midnight blue Romona Keveza one shouldered gown for the premiere of her directorial début 'In the Land of Blood and Honey' in LA in December 2011.

You too can shine in blue, as our sexy ladies show above.  Twilight’s Ashley Greene wore  a one-shoulder Donna Karan satin dress to the Avon Foundation For Women Global Voices for Change Gala in 2011, sexy Demi Moore wore a cobalt blue Zac Posen silk halter dress with a large ruffle cascading down the front to the launch of Trump International Hotel and Tower Dubai in NY in 2008 and last but not least Knocked Up actress Katherine Heigl were a electric blue satin Reem Acra Resort 2010 dress to the "The Ugly Truth" Screening in 2009.

Blue is seen as trustworthy, dependable, and committed.  The colour of ocean and sky, blue is perceived as a constant in our lives.  These are all things, our celebrity fashionistas seem to know, and something I have just learnt too!

Jeans T’aime…

With the 2012 on the horizon and with it, the new awards season, I’m dying to see what my favourite fashionistas will wear on the red carpet. But I believe, real style is not only made by glam, glitter, sparkles and gowns, Jeans are a must for any occasion, as shown by my favourite fashion girls…

DID YOU KNOW the word "jeans" comes from the French phrase bleu de Gênes, literally the blue of Genoa. Jeans fabric, or denim, originated in the French town of Nîmes, from which 'denim' (de Nîmes) gets its name.

The Duchess of Cambridge Kate & Kim Kardashian, pair their skinnies with pumps, Jessica Alba wears her bootcut with errr… boots and the trend setter Gwen Stefani pairs  boyfriend jeans with strappy wedges.


Jeans are now a very popular form of casual dress around the world, and have been so for decades. They come in many styles and colours high waist, skinny and bootcut as just a few, has worn below by these stylish girls;

However, "blue jeans" are particularly identified with American culture, especially the American Old West which for these ladies means a more relaxed look…

 

Jessica Alba, Charlize Theron , Katie Holmes and Twilight’s Ashley Green  do the denim on denim trend with effortless style, teaming it with flat boots, hat, and a classic scarf a la Mrs Tom Cruise, denim head to toe is now a friend, no longer a foe!! ;-)

A short story...
For as long as I can remember I’ve had a passion for beautiful clothes, and a desire for fashion and style.  When I was growing up and couldn’t afford to buy clothes, I remember saving money to buy one season garment and borrowing clothes from my friends to wear with them.  At this point in my life, I am still trying to find my own Style, making choices, experimenting, searching... and that is why I follow what celebrities’ wear, the risks they take, and what makes them shine, how their styles compare on and off screen… And how, what they wear is important for the characters they play.  For years I kept files of their best outfits and I have a great group of Idolsfashionistas to share with you!!!!
